We’re looking for autism mentors to join the team!

At Key2Confidence, we specialise in helping children and young people to understand their neurodiversity, harness their strengths and support their challenges.

Following growth, we’re now looking for freelance autism mentors for teens and young adults to deliver services in-person in Worcestershire and online.

Successful applicants will join our small, friendly team to provide mentoring and personalised support programmes online and in clients’ homes.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for people who are as passionate about helping to meet the diverse needs of neurodivergent children and young people as we are!

If you have demonstrable experience mentoring and delivering tailored support to autistic and ADHD students and you:

  • Have that special quality that allows you to build and maintain mutually respectful and trusting relationships
  • Want a freelance, flexible role that fits around family commitments
  • Have experience working as a TA, mentor, youth worker or similar
  • Have lived experience of neurodiversity (perhaps your own or that of a close family member)
  • Have access to your own age appropriate resources
  • Are willing to work during the holidays, when necessary
  • Are happy to travel to deliver in-person support

This could be the role for you!

About us:

We are a person-centred autism mentoring and support service based in Worcestershire. We meet the individual needs of children, young people and young adults who struggle to access mainstream learning environments and colleges (you can read a case study here). We also provide much-needed support to parents.

Benefits:

This freelance role offers a generous hourly rate (dependent on experience).  Supervision and support is included to ensure we maintain our consistently high standards of service delivery and professionalism.

This flexible role will allow you to work around the school run if required. Weekend work is optional.

Are you a good fit?

We’re looking for empathic, resourceful and non-judgemental people who have a good sense of fun and humour as well as integrity.

You will also need to be:

  • Dedicated
  • Trustworthy
  • Professional
  • Friendly
  • Flexible
  • Intuitive
  • Punctual

Don’t forget, prior experience supporting neurodivergent teens/young adults is essential.

How to apply:

If you’re passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people and their families, we’d love to hear from you! Simply complete our short form to register your interest. If you’re a good fit, we’ll get in touch to arrange an online Zoom meeting so we can find out more about each other.
