Autism and ADHD mentoring for pupils and students
Cost-effective support that meets everyone's needs
Neurodivergent children and young people thrive when they receive consistent, structured support.
Our service matches pupils who need extra support with experienced mentors. They provide the theoretical and practical support young people need to engage and flourish.
Our flexible delivery model enables children to participate in the way that feels most comfortable to them and ensures that their voices are heard.

How it works
The key to our success lies in mentor matching
Discovery conversation
Depending on location, our founder, Patsy, will meet with your pupil's parent/s online or in person. She'll start to build a rapport with the family as she gets to the heart of their concerns and challenges.
Initial session
Patsy will meet with your pupil to help them identify the reasons for their challenges, e.g. the underlying reasons for them being unable to attend school or engage with learning. She'll use her experience to help her join the dots. This information can be shared with you so that you can make the adjustments needed to help your pupil re-engage.
Mentor matching
Patsy will match your pupil with one of our mentors. They will have the training and lived experience needed to understand your pupil and tailor the support they give.
Weekly sessions
Depending on availability and your pupil's needs, the assigned mentor will deliver sessions in school, at the family's home or online.
Your pupil will have support from the same mentor every week, allowing them to build a strong relationship and grow feelings of trust.
With permission, we'll even give your pupil the opportunity to practice what they've learned in social situations and give them the opportunity to reflect and learn.
At the end of a block
We'll provide an end-of-block summary for your records, e.g. the number of sessions held, engagement shown, etc. If there are any concerns at any other times, we'll be in touch.

FAQ
If you don't find the answers you need, please contact us
Yes, we do. It’s one of the things that we're passionate about. If your school environment isn’t suitable for your pupil's needs, we will help with the transition to a new setting.
Holiday support is especially useful for children transitioning to a new environment or for children who struggle with changes to routine.
We can provide support through the holidays if you agree to make someone available to take any safeguarding calls.
In the unlikely event of this happening, we have two options.
Firstly, we can explore the reasons with the pupil and match them with another mentor.
Alternatively, we can transfer the remainder of a block of sessions to another pupil providing the sessions restart within two weeks.
Every child’s needs are different. We recommend a minimum of ten sessions for schools. Sessions last 45 minutes and are always held during the school day.
Sessions for a named child are invoiced and paid for in advance (in blocks of ten).
If the child is sick, please email the mentor on their Key2Confidence email address, CCing admin@key2confidence.co.uk. If possible, please give at least 12 hours notice.
The time has already been reserved for that child so the session will be billable, as normal. In extenuating circumstances, we may be able to make other arrangements at our discretion.
If the mentor is unwell, we will give as much notice as possible (to a named email address) and roll the session over.
Please contact admin@key2confidence.co.uk to find out availability in your area.
The child or young person will need access to a laptop with Zoom, a quiet room and the necessary support to log in.
We use a range of security measures including private email boxes, anonymised notes and lockable storage. Find out more in our confidentiality and data protection policies.
Yes, we do. Following a referral from you, we can take over the process, giving you time and peace of mind to focus on other tasks. All you need to do is pay the invoice and put aside time to read our weekly updates.
If budget is not available via school, parents can contact us directly to self-fund.
